Information & Requirements

  • Instructor - Alexandra Thompson of Ocean Stone Therapy, 604-599-5596
  • (Alexandra will contact you a few weeks prior to class, to answer questions you might have. Please make sure that we have your e-mail in order for Alexandra to forward you pages for your course “pre-study”.)
  • 50% of the course cost is required to secure your spot in the class. The remaining balance is due on the course date.
  • Professional attire is required. (No jeans or sweats) In the event of poor weather conditions Rain or Snow please bring a pair of indoor shoes.
  • Please ensure that your fingernails are very short so that your fellow students will not feel the presence of nails during massage exchanges. Also be prepared to pull long hair back and avoid wearing any perfumes or fragrances as others may be allergic.
  • For your use on the massage table, please bring with you - three hand towels, a bed pillow for use as a bolster, a twin sheet - one fitted, one flat, one pillow case and one warm cover. Also bring - Pen, Pencil and a Highlighter.
  • No Models are required
  • Practicum to complete: All students are required to perform 10 Practicums (90 minutes each), within 8 weeks of their course completion, and submit (by mail) all to the Instructor, before receiving the course certificate. A two page written test (generally takes 45 minutes) will be given during class time.
  • All class and workshop dates are subject to change. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel any class.
  • On the first day of class, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time to allow for check-in and payment. On subsequent days, please ensure that you are here on time and prepared for class. If you are unable to be on time for whatever reason, you are expected to call and notify your instructor prior to class start time. If you are unable to get through to the main line, you may leave a message at ext 226. If you are more than 30 minutes late without prior notice, you will need to reschedule the entire class with our Education Director. A rescheduling fee of $175.00 will apply.
  • Please park your vehicle on the west side of the building. Please ensure you have picked up your parking pass (from The Esthetic Institute) and that it is in your vehicle in a visible location.
  • Please note smoking is only permitted at the side of the building.
