Waxing
Information & Requirements
- 50% of the course cost is required to secure your spot in the class. The remaining balance is due on the course date.
- Waxing students are asked not to wax or shave for three weeks prior to the course as you will be practicing hair removal on each other.
- As with all classes at the Esthetic Institute, students are expected to arrive in school uniform, which is professional attire appropriate for the spa/esthetic environment (jeans, sneakers, and sweats/hoodies are NOT considered professional attire). A White Lab Jacket is required (available for purchase at Beauty Depot) and please bring a pair of indoor soft soled shoes. Please be prepared to pull back long hair.
- Please bring with you the following; Paper, Pen, Pencil and Highlighter
- Two models are required on the 3rd day at 10:00am and one at 1:00pm. It would be beneficial for you to have models that require several areas to be waxed (legs, bikini, arms, underarms, eyebrow, lip, chin, chest and back if male are examples of the areas to be waxed). If your model only has one or two areas to be waxed please bring a 3rd model in. All areas are acceptable with the exception of the Brazilian area, as we host another workshop for waxing in that area. Waxing models are asked not to wax or shave for three weeks prior to the course.
- You will also need a model for your exam (Day 4) at 10 am. Models should be willing to have their lower legs, bikini, underarms and eyebrows waxed please.
- A Model fee of $5.00 is applicable for each of your models and will be collected by your instructor when models arrive. Please ensure that your model has correct change. Cash only please.
- Lunch break will be 30 minutes. A bagged lunch can be brought. Please note smoking is only permitted at the side of the building.
- Quotas must be completed in order to receive certification; 6 lower legs or 3 full legs 3 Bikini 4 Eyebrow 2 lip, 2 chin 3 Underarm please note - 1 full leg = 1 back and chest
- On the first day of class, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time to allow for check-in and payment. On subsequent days, please ensure that you are here on time and prepared for class. If you are unable to be on time for whatever reason, you are expected to call and notify your instructor prior to class start time. If you are unable to get through to the main line, you may leave a message at ext 226. If you are more than 30 minutes late without prior notice, you will need to reschedule the entire class with our Education Director. A rescheduling fee of $175.00 will apply.
- Please park your vehicle on the west side of the building. Please ensure you have picked up your parking pass (from The Esthetic Institute) and that it is in your vehicle in a visible location.
- All class and workshop dates are subject to change. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel any class.
